      Star Lane Cabernet is from our estate vineyard located at the far eastern end of the Santa Ynez Valley, in the new Happy Canyonof Santa Barbara appellation. Happy Canyon has warmer temperatures than other appellations in Santa Barbara County, makingit ideal for Bordeaux varietals. Our vineyard rises from 600 feet to an elevation of 1550 feet with a southeasterly aspect that contributesoptimal ripening conditions. The combination of elevation and low nutrient soils produces grapes of notable intensity and balance.Cabernet SauvignonWinemaker Notes:The cool weather and late season promotedwonderful aromatics in a tightlystructured wine. Meticulously sortedfruit with optimum ripeness and shortermaceration times worked to create a StarLane classic.Vintage:2010 was unseasonably cool fromMarch to June setting up a delayed andcool ripening season. The cool earlyseason weather was followed by moderatetemperatures that promoted fullmaturity. The extended hang time in2010 combined with cool temperaturespromoted wines of freshness of flavor.Tasting Notes:With classic Star Lane sweet floral notesleading the aromatics, this wine alsoshows the spice and dark fruit qualities ofthe cooler vintage.
